He began his career as a painter in Japan in the late 70's. In the late 80's, after working as a graphic designer for several years, he traveled to the U.S.
in search of new horizons. He studied at the Pennsylvania Academy of the Fine Arts where he completed the Certificate Program and earned several awards including: the Lewis S. Ware Memorial Travel Scholarship Award, the Philadelphia Artists Award, and the Cuff/Sammak Prize for Abstract Painting.
He was awarded the MFA Top Scholars Award, which enabled him to pursue a Master's degree in Fine Arts at the Pennsylvania Academy of the Fine Arts.
He has also designed logos for a retirement home, non-profit agencies, a school in Africa, and a music band in Japan.
He has had solo shows in the Shinwa Gallery and Gekkanbijutsu Gallery in Tokyo; at the
Asian Arts Initiative and Thos. Moser Cabinetmakers in Philadelphia. He has also shown at Open Space Gallery in Allentown, the
Allentown Art Museum, the
3rd Street Gallery,
Woodmere Art Museum, Morris Gallery at PAFA, Art Gallery 911, the Artexpo in New York, and the Rosenfeld Gallery in Philadelphia.
Since he moved to Lima, Peru, he has had
solo shows in the Gallery of the UNIFÉ,
the Gallery of the
Fundación
Euroidiomas and
the Gallery of
CAFAE-SE, for group shows;
in the art Gallery of the Norbert Wiener,
the Centro Cultural Ricardo Palma,
